A Message from Our Co-Chairs

On behalf of the more than 35,000 Postal Employees, Federal Government Workers and Military personnel in Northern New Jersey, we are pleased and honored to again serve as the 2008-2009 Combined Federal Campaign Co-chairs.

The New Jersey Federal Community has participated in the Combined Federal Campaign for more than 40 years and we know first hand that it's because your support of this campaign that our family, friends and communities can continue to grow and strive.

Each year we ask you to look into your hearts and make donations that will contribute to change. The Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) is your opportunity to demonstrate your commitment to change, for a better and improved world. Our world extends from our backyards to the broader international communities.

This year's theme, "Be A Star...in Someone's Life" echoes the momentum from last years theme and the movie "Pay It Forward", where individuals (movie stars) performed random acts of kindness for strangers. We need stars and we believe you are a "Star."

You may feel that you are only one person and your contribution won't make a difference. But make no mistake one person can make a difference and you are that person. By participating in the campaign you are performing random acts of kindness for individuals you know, as well as those you may never know. You can help to ensure a better, safer, healthier and cleaner place to live, work and play.

There are several reasons why should you continue or perhaps start to give to the Combined Federal Campaign:

• It is the ONLY charitable campaign endorsed and conducted by federal employees, civilian and military throughout the country;
• This campaign allows YOU to select where your money goes and supports the organizations and causes that mean the most to you; and
• You can make your contribution through an easy payroll deduction plan.

The need for donations grows annually - in the past years donated dollars supported our military personnel and their families, brought relief to those affected by natural disasters or found new treatments to chronic and fatal diseases like diabetes and cancer. The need for programs and services continues to exist and with your help, we hope to surpass last year's goal. This is a great challenge, but we can and must do it!

Last year, the Northern New Jersey CFC raised over $1.7 million to fund more than 1500 charitable organizations locally, nationally and internationally.
